they were right about the tremors
they were right about the nausea
they were right about the drowsiness
coupled with insomnia
right about the dry-mouthed nights
the change in taste and appetite
but they said it'd make life easier
and that just isn't right.
pounding head and ringing ears
the nervousness and pain
they were right about the sweating
and the racing heart in vain
right about the blurry eyes
aching ankles, shoulders, thighs
but all the help they said it'd be
was either wrong or lies
they were right about the tremors
they warned me of the nausea
my head was filled with drowsiness
but evening held insomnia
I couldn't swallow a mouthful of sores
how to be happy feel so damned poor?
nightmares rule all the morning after
feels just like all the days before.
